Benefits provided to the growers by Mango Development Corporation

1. Re-harvest implements

Integrated Nutrition Management/ Integrated Pest Management Implements

  • Mango Special: A subsidy of 50% of the cost of Mango Special, which currently costs Rs. 118 per kg, is given. The subsidy is given at 8 kg per acre for a maximum of 10 acres per beneficiary (60% for SC/ST and 50% for others).
  • Healer Cum Sealer: A subsidy of 50% of the cost of Healer Cum Sealer, which currently costs Rs. 110 per kg, is given. The subsidy is given at 10 kg per acre for a maximum of 10 acres per beneficiary (60% for SC/ST and 50% for others).
  • Pheromone Traps: A subsidy of 50% of the cost of pheromone box and 3 Lures, which currently costs RS. 44 per box and 3 lures, is given. The subsidy is given at 8 box and 24 lure for a maximum of 10 acres per beneficiary (60% for SC/ST and 50% for others).
  • Financial Assistance for plant protection: A subsidy of 50% on the cost of plant protection material purchased for pest and disease control is given. The minimum amount given is Rs. 2,000 and the maximum amount is Rs. 20,000. The assistance is given for from 0.4 hectare to 10 hectares per beneficiary (60% in case of SC/ST and 50% in case of others).

2. Implements for post mango harvest management

  • Plastic Crates: The cost of crates of 15 kg to 20 kg capacity varies from Rs. 250 to Rs. 300. A subsidy of 50% is given and the maximum no. of crates for which a beneficiary can avail subsidy is 200 crates (60% in case of SC/ST and 50% in case of others).
  • Carton Boxes: The cost of a 3 kg capacity carton box is Rs. 17.50. A subsidy of 50% is given for a maximum of 2000 cartons per beneficiary ((60% in case of SC/ST and 50% in case of others).
  • Low cost fruit ripening unit: A subsidy of 50% is given for purchasing a 1-ton capacity 4 Cubic Meter – 1.6 m x 1.4 m x 1.8 m sized low cost fruit ripening unit developed by IIHR.
  • Mango Harvester: A subsidy of 50% is given for purchasing a low cost mango harvester.
  • Ethylene Cans: A subsidy of 50% is given for purchasing ethylene cans used for ripening fruits. The subsidy is given for a maximum of 25 cans with which 50 tons of fruits can be ripened. Maximum amount of subsidy given is Rs. 2,000.

3. Human Resource Development Programme

Training/Seminar Programme: As per the guidelines of the department, training programmes (at taluk and hobli level) will be organized for mango farmers and officers in important mango growing districts.
